So, you are just guessing what the device is and how to connect it. Why do you suppose that you have the hardware connected correctly, and that it must, therefore, be a software problem?
The sensor has its wiring diagram over it and I could also see LED1 behaving as it should with the correct wiring. The glowing LED denotes that the hardware is properly connected.
