Interfacing the a Renogy Wanderer Controller

I have a soalr panel connected to a Renogy Wanderer controller that has a rj45 connection. if anyone connected an arduino to one of these controllers. The interface uses RS-485 protocol.

Are you sure its not an RJ12 port and RS232? That's what I find when I search, but I notice there's more than one device called "Renogy Wanderer" - you should indicate exactly which one.
