Interfacing with SPI

Hi,

I am trying to interface two arduino boards together with this RF Link - http://www.rfsolutions.co.uk/acatalog/Alpha_TRX_Modules.html

The interface for this RF link is SPI, however looking at the data sheet from RS Components for the Arduino UNO it says

“SPI: 10 (SS), 11 (MOSI), 12 (MISO), 13 (SCK). These pins support SPI communication, which,
although provided by the underlying hardware, is not currently included in the Arduino language.”

How would i go about interfacing the two together?

Now, the Mini, on the other hand: http://arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoBoardNano

SPI: 10 (SS), 11 (MOSI), 12 (MISO), 13 (SCK). These pins support SPI communication, which, although provided by the underlying hardware, is not currently included in the Arduino language.

So, the simple solution is to not get the Mini for your project.

I'd also steer clear of RS Components.

Thanks for the swift reply!

Im guessing that to link the RF link and board to send and revieve data a case of plugging the components together via the SPI ports and then setting up the programming to send and recieve the data via these ports?

I appologise for the simple and basic questions but my knowledge of programming and interfacing is very very limited.

Yes at it's simplest level it is. However the protocol you have to implement is perhaps more of a challenge to you. Get the data sheets, read them, understand them, before parting with cash. If there is something you don 't understand, find out, it will not sort itself out.
