Interfacing Xbee S2C on SPI with Arduino Nano

I'm trying to connect my Xbee S2C module with Arduino Nano using the SPI interface. Since only API mode is supported on SPI, I'm not able to figure out how to write my code. Can someone suggest a suitable library for the same or provide a sample code demonstrating the usage of SPI on Xbee S2C?
