Internal oscillator and fuse bits

I read about an article on making use of the internal crystal oscillator by adjusting the fuse bits. I was wondering whether my Arduino UNO R3 is using the internal or external oscillator by factory default.

Hi,

Uno uses an external oscillator, either a 16MHz crystal or ceramic oscillator.

There are some types of Arduino such as the Lilypad which run on the internal oscillator.
