Anyone here have windows 7?
Anyone here have internet problems?
I Do
I was hoping you could help.
The problem: Randomly my internet would cut me off.
Frequency: Random, every 4 hours
Temporary Solution: unplug gigabit switch and replug back in. I have to do this every time!
Permanent Solution : Needed
Facts:
Plugging computer directly into wall does not solve problem
Plugging computer into switch, then when it d/c i can turn off/on, to resolve issue
Reseting Router works
We tried two different routers both had same problems
I'm using Windows 7
I have 2 internet ports (we tried limiting to one, still failed)
It doesn't matter what I'm doing on the pc, it cuts off randomly
What appears: Yellow triangle on connection icon "cannot identify connection"
The Windows 7 problem solver cannot solve, instead tells me to unplug my gigabit switch...
I've tried 2 gigabit switches.
If it weren't for the switches i would've had to reset my router every time
I've tried ipcofig, flushdns, registerdns....
all other computers in my house work at the time of d/c
the connection does NOT comeback until i unplug/plug
All softwares are updated
My router is installed at latest version
Opinion:
It's not my router or switch, although my router log does report twinge attacks when i play games.
it's my computer
I'm not sure if its Windows 7, a program, something the needs the be refreshed like dns or cache, or hardware
Dude have the same exact thing here except with a linksys router and it happens once a week or so. I found that it usually happens when I use a lot of bandwidth (DL especially - torrenting, streaming, gaming at the same time usually does the trick). Any solutions? I am planning to switch routers in an attempt to resolve the issue, but my current router works great on my other computers and I didn't have this issue back in the day with vista so I am very reluctant to say that just getting a new router will save me.
I was able to get a screenshot today of ipconfig /all
I have the snapshot of when I first started the computer and it JUST had the yellow sign.
The snapshot of about 5 mins in.
The snapshot after I unplugged/plugged and the internet works.
All 3 of these are different.
picture 1
Does not even know the connection specific dns suffix,
The lease, ip4v address... does not appear.
All media states were disconnected
picture 2
Recognizes the dns comes from Comcast.
Has the lease, expiry, and address...
[Tunnel adapter isatap.hsd1.state.comcast.net] media state disconnected
[Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection*11] is left blank.
Picture 3
Looks exactly the same as picture 2
Exceptions of the time stamp
Ipv6 address for Tunnel adpater Local Area Connection*11 is slightly different. It starts out as fe80:: blah blah blah
Sounds familiar. Similar problem with Windows 7 losing network connectivity on a works machine. We eventually came to the conclusion the Windows 7 driver for the said network card isn't all it should be.

More likely Windows 7 and Microsoft since the same NIC works flawlessly with XP. Cheap network card off ebay is probably the simplest solution, you can't go wrong with a decades old 8139.......
