I do not see the benefit of this module. Is only a uBlox chip on a random board. There is no inovation. I rather buy a chip from uBlox, or a developmend board from them, if this uBlox chip where interesting.

Hi @Tordens , Thanks for your comment!
First of all there is no development board in the market for the new MIA-M10Q chip yet, and the official evaluation board costs 210$

You can order MultiNav Pro+ from Kickstarter now at 49$ and get it directly after the campaign

what for sure are unique about this board:
-The integrated Chip antenna design with an exceptional high gain, so no need to connect bulky patch antenna with coaxial cable
-Its compact design 2.6cm x 2.2xm which makes it much easier to be integrated into you design with dual UART & I2C support
-The professional design guarantees to make use of the chip full features specially the accuracy of 1.5m and fix rate of 18Hz. and It's ESD proof up to 26KV for maximum durability.

The board is also open source!
you can find the datasheet and all related information at the official website

This is a standard claim for any modern GPS module under perfect conditions, with a clear view of the sky, lots of satellites available, plenty of averaging, and not to be taken seriously.

Product summary of the uBlox MIA-M10 chip

Hi @jremington ,Of course not for any modern GPS module, for example the maximum accuracy you could achieve with just the former series from ublox M8 like ZOE-M8 was 2.5m using GPS & GLONASS and if only GLONASS it's 4m.

Most modern smartphone can achieve accuracy around 4.9m according to recent research attached

All those claims are absolute nonsense if the conditions are not perfect, which is my point.

I understand you, but there are products with RF design (antenna + LNA + filter) that is capable of receiving and amplifying the very sensitive signal like MultiNav Pro+, and other designs that never work unless in the perfect conditions or on Mars. which is my point.

And That starts from the antenna design to ensure high gain and wide omnidirectional response, perfect tuning and impedance matching network to ensure maximum power transfer and minimum return losses.

You can see in the attached photo MultiNav Pro+ using ublox ucenter2 software was able to receive first fix in less than 0.5s at hot start, while the datasheet states that it needs 1 seconds so the design of this module is capable to allow users to get the most out of the MIA-M10Q chip.

OK.

I support US develpments and the price is fair. Then, it is probably a genuine uBlox. I would try it, but as a drone developer, I miss magnetic compass on the I2C bus, as it is common on drone gps modules.

@Tordens That sounds a good idea! I've discussed it with my team and we will plan the next version to include a compass with the module, Thanks.

With the existing produced MultiNav Por+ module I guarantee to you the best positioning accuracy in the market and perfect signal reception quality. Feel free to join our kickstarter campaign.
