iPhone 6 not detecting HM-10 BLE module

I want to be able to use my iPhone with the Arduino via BLE.

Bought a HM-10 module and also checked if its original. Matches with the component layout of original PCB.

Power it up with 5V and the LED comes alive blinking. While my laptop links easily my iPhone is very shy and does not even locate the module :-(

Is there anything that needs to be done to bring it around to talk to iPhone 6.0 or the module is a dud ( which I don't think it is as it links with the laptop)

Any ideas ??

I think that you need to setup the HM10 module to use iBeacon mode, but I'm not sure and I don't have an iPhone.

Ok some improvement. It only connects with an App called Bluetooth Serial by Alex in iTunes Store.

But whereas my iPhone does not identify it outside of the App. Why is that ??

Tried two iPhone 6 with same result.

This suggests there is nothing wrong with Arduino or bluetooth.

Perhaps that is the iPhone way of doing things

Which rather suggests the above is true. If Bluetooth Serial is working, you are up and running.
