Now we need to cut the PC out of the loop and connect the Arduino straight to the iPhone. :wink: Perhaps one of the small 3.3V versions, integrated into an iPhone clip-on connector? There would be a ton of possible applications...

I think, if you want to use dock as serial port, I'm pretty shure, you have to Jaibrake your phone.

I thing the best way to make it simpler is adding pc into car :slight_smile: Something like Pico-ITX :slight_smile:
Or some PDA which have serial port and wifi. (Does exist something like this?)

I think that you can access the Serial Port (if they have one) on any smartphone running Windows Mobile (or maybe the future Google Android OS). Or maybe you can just use bluetooth, mobile Processing and an Arduino BT...

iPhone has shitty bluetooth :frowning: only handsfree profile :(( I have HTC Kaiser lies on my table, but i dont have clue if this device have serial port.

You need to use the sound output as your data gate. I don't know how, but this is the only possible solution I could come up with.

Just write an app that generates a sound that is played through earphones, take of the actual earphones and you have your connection.

I would love you all if someone with more experience could work this out.
It would be a major breakthrough in connecting the iPhone to the outside world(although connection was the main idea behind this device).

If you jailbreak you have complete control over serial ports but if you dont then the only way is to have a sound recording for left right backwards forwards and play the one you want when neccesary and app store apps cant use the serial ports at all!
