iPod touch controlling Arduino?

Well i have a project to complete in which i have to control the Arduino with an iPod touch. Is this possible to achieve without the Ethernet shield? I will use the iOSC apllication on iPod

You could probably have the Arduino connected to a computer, which in turn downloads information, and sends it to the Arduino via serial.

Other than that, you could use the WiFi shield, which is actually more than the Ethernet shield, but hey…You said not the Ethernet shield :P.

:P Actually i want to make this happen:

This guy connects his iPod at wifi network and his laptop too. Arduino is connected with a usb cable to the pc so if i get it Arduino doesnt need any extra shield to work?Am i right?:P

Yes you are right.
