IR Coding Help

I found this code (below) and i really need it to be able to receive 4 different signals and have 4 different buttons to send it eg Power, Vol Up, Vol Down and Something else. I want to be able to hold down the button and then press the button on the remote and record it eg on the arduino hold down the vol Up button and then point a remote at it and press the Vol Up button and the arduino records it later for playback. I cant figure out how to do all that.

The code you have does something. What does it do? How does that relate to what you want it to do?

read through this tutorial - it's quite comprehensive.

If I understood your post correctly,.....I suggest your work through all of the examples that come with the library first. Then you will understand more of the issues involved.
