IR Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Biking 4D game with UE4

Hi guys! I've been working on a project which involves 4D. My programming engine is UE4 (Unreal Engine 4).

What I want to make is user sit on the bike. When he starts paddling. My game can reacts the same physics which we did in the reality world.

I use hall effect sensor to detect the current speed.

But my immediate problem is turning the handle bar. I can't overcome the problem which I can't detailize the turning angle. that means, There is no difference between slightly turning angle and big turning angles. Btw the sensor I'm using right now is IR infrared obstacle avoidance sensor.
Is there any sensor that can make it much more perfect?
