I'm trying to build a really simple circuit to tell if there is any IR present. I have the IR Receiver TSOP38238 and I've hooked it up with the arduino correctly. On Sparkfun there are a bunch of tutorials with code showing how to pair it with the remote, but all I want to use it for is to see if there is any IR at all. I thought I could do this by just reading the output on the pin I connected it to, but even when I shine an IR led at it, the serial monitor just displays straight 1's. Any idea on what I can do to accomplish this task?
U got a sensor that senses 38kHz IR pulses. (try any remote u've got)
Want you want is a IR photo-transistor (photo-diode) to detect a stedy IR-source
