IR Receiver Doesn't Like to Share Power

I have an IR Receiver and an IR remote that works just fine to turn on and off an LED.

But when I hook up a servo and both are hooked up to the 5v, the receiver only works occasionally.

Serial monitor shows that the codes the receiver gets when the servo is hooked up are usually nonsense, not the codes the remote is sending.

How can I source power to both the receiver and a servo without the servo messing with the receiver function?

Works fine if I use 3v3 to power the receiver instead, but I'd like to know what can be done in terms of sharing the same 5v pin.

Sounds like the servo is using the Arduino +5 for power. This is something I never do. i.e. motors and Arduino don't like each other.
