IR sensor prone to sunlight

hello, I'm using an analog IR sensor for obstacle detection . May i know how to make less prone to sunlight? i am using a cap for the sensor, still i get it disturbed by sunlight,

Put an optical notch filter over the sensor - the datasheet should tell you what the emitter's wavelength is.
Find an IR filter to match that.
