Good day to everyone! I am really a newbie here in using arduino so please bear with me if I dont know much.

So, I am currently working on a project in which I am using an IR Sensor as a trigger to my system. If my sensor detects something, Then my output is high. My problem is it stays high. I wanted it to be high for atleast 60 seconds, Then suddenly stops. Then I press a reset button then my output will be high again. However, The IR sensor will keep detecting that object thus making my output stay high. Is there a way that I can time the "HIGH" output even if my IR sensor continues to detect something?
