I want to try out the power jack for the first time but, i have an question. Is 100 Milliamp okay for an arduino uno? i know it has mosfet and a regulator but is it THAT easy to fry an arduino through an 8.1V battery with an centre-positive barrel jack? and is there an reverse polarity connection security on the arduino uno?
minimum 0.2 amp is good
For just the Uno, yes.
No, only if you make mistakes, especially when you start adding other things to it.
See the schematic. I suggest that you download it so you always have it at hand. Below the snip with the barrel and the 5V regulator.
i do not have an regulator
You do not need one. The regulator shown in the schematic posted by @sterretje is already on the Uno.
