it is a general electronics forum.... I think OP uses active and passive as we do with components.... a resistor is a passive component, a transistor is an active one .
My point is that there could be five different definitions for "active" so the question is not valid until you rule out all but one definition.
I would say "active" but then I am not shocking dead bodies to obtain test results.
