I'm a trainer who deliver aruino related courses. For some reason,
the IT department asked me to deploy thin clients instead of desktop
computers for hands-on practice for trainees in new classroom.
Thus I've performed a test to see if Arduino works with Dell Wyse P25
thin Client or not. The details are as follows.
I've tried installing the Arduino IDE(arduino-1.0.5-r2-windows) in the
Virtual Machine running Windows 7 and connecting arduino Uno Rev.3 to
the USB port of Dell Wyse P25 which provides remote desktop to that
Virtual Machine.
The result was that the OS in Virtual Machine didn't detect any new hardware
after the arduino was connected to the thin client. Then I performed same test
for XBee module with XBee Explorer USB and it worked(The Windows 7 recognized
XBee as a new device and the driver installed correctly).The parameter reading and
firmware updating tasks were completed without error.
Is it possible for Arduino Uno rev.3 to work with this kind of thin client?
