Is it possible to detect multiple object with an Ultrasonic Sensor

Hello everyone,

I need some advice for my project. So basically my project is about counting people who come into a building and detect their temperature. So my project needs are 1 ultrasonic sensor, 1 sensor non contact IR, motor servo and lcd 16x2. The scenario that i want to do is ultrasonic counting people who coming in and if people inside the building already reach its maximum, the door with motor servo won't be opened and it will do the same when people who try to coming to the building has high temperature, also the information will be display on lcd 16x2.

So i got another scenario, what if people who coming are mother who holding her baby. I read somewhere and it said to add some machine learning on it to give possibillity the person who coming in more than one person, but i'm not sure because i haven't tried this yet. But is it possible to do this kind of scenario with an ultrasonic sensor? Does anyone have an idea how to detect multiple object?

Please let me know if there's something i can do for this kind of scenario cause i'm struggling on it.
Thanks for your help.

Your struggling because you have not taken the time to experiment/learn how each of your sensors work.

I cannot see how an ultrasonic sensor, at least any that are available at a reasonable price, could discriminate between a mother holding a baby and one not holding a baby. If you can find where you read this I would be interested in reading it

Wen I first read this it occurred to me that you need a trained bat. :grinning:

I like this - over thirty years ago, I programmed industrial tomography systems.
They were expensive, bulky and slow.

Today I read that they're now being used in airport baggage inspection.

Give it time.

I think it will be a while before you can run a CAT scanner on an Arduino Uno along with the image processing software to recognise a mother and baby
