Is it possible to get the MFRC522 RFID data using UART?

My goal is to read the Tag data of MFRC522 Reader using Arduino UNO via UART / I2C protocol. I have surfed the net, I am not able to come up with any solutions.

I have tried with library file too and I am unable to come up with a solution.

Can anyone help me out with the examples and library files?

Is there a specific reason not to use SPI communication as shown in the playground documentation?

While the chip used in these boards is capable of serial and I2C interfacing modes the way those chips are wired up means they can't be used in those modes. The mode select pins are permanently wires for SPI interface only and due to the tracking you can't cut the tracks to free these pins.

This will explain why you have found no examples using these two modes.

I am trying to post the TAG ID to the server using Ethernet Shield. As both the MFRC522 RFID Reader and Ethernet shield works under SPI protocol, I am unable to post the data to the server using Ethernet Shield and Arduino UNO board.

Thank You. Now I got the clear idea of why MFRC522 Reader is not working under I2C and UART protocol.

As I am sending my tag data to the server using Arduino Ethernet Shield and Arduino UNO board, I am unable to use SPI libraries, that's why I was surfing for UART and I2C libraries for MFRC522 RFID Reader.

But you can actually use multiple SPI devices together i have done it several times

I am having the problem of selecting the SPI pins of one at a time.

You need a separate select pin for each device on the SPI bus, all the other signals on the bus can be common.
