Is it possible to power a 5v servo with a 4 AA battery pack?

Trying to make my servo setup protable and was wondering if it could be powered off a standard 4 AA battery holder that outputs 4.5v?

The best AA cells for running servos and motors are NiMH rechargeable cells 1.2V nominal (Eneloops or similar). 4 cells make 4,8V.

4 x 1.5V AA Alkaline cells = 6V.

Most standard servos will operate at between 4.8v and 6v, with 6v being the best.

Just in case the servo really needs 4.5V, I used a 4xAA holder in the past with 3xAA and a shorting cable in unused position. That will deliver exactly 4.5V (with full batteries).
