Is it possible to send video recordings of an ESP32-Cam to a cloud storage?

Hello,

I am currently working on a projet with my team, and our objective is to be able to have a camera filming something, with the video currently being recorded saved on a cloud.
After choosing the ESP32 Cam, we now would like to find a solution, if it exists, to save on a cloud storage the video captured by the ESP32 Cam. If possible in real time, and if not at the end of the recording. For the moment, we have only managed to do so with images, and send them to google drive for example.

If it is possible, i am also wondering if an SD Card is necessary in doing this. I was thinking for example, that it could maybe be useful to store videos on the SD Card while there was no connection and thus no way to send it to the cloud.

Thank you very much for your help,
Overlizee

perhaps ftp?

Or you want streaming? The ESp32 cam can only give a max of 5 images a second. FTPing the image should work.

No, i do not need streaming at all. All i need basically is to have at the end of the recording session, the video stored on a cloud storage of some sort basically.
I am currently documenting myself on this FTP technique following your advice. Do you think the SD card would be necessary for such a use ?

Thank you for your help !

Horse before the cart

Just stick the video on SD, copy it from PC to YouTube. Otherwise, you are going to have to deal with securing cloud storage; of course, you could use the Microsoft 'free' storage, I guess.

If the captured image was FTP'd to a server upon image capture, what would the SD card be for?

I FTP a ESP32 cam image directly to my website 5 times a second. Works well.

So basically you then build a 5 fps video with all the images is that it ? Because our main problem is not knowing how to do it with videos.

Thank you for your help, but i forgot to say that the whole idea of our objective is that the prototype is auto-sufficient. As in there would be no need of connecting it to any device such as a PC in order to upload the videos on our cloud storage. And, of course, once we manage to do it, we will be very careful with securing everything with professionals !

Yes, I build a video from 5fps.

The ESP32 cam does not do streaming video. The max frame rate is 5fps.

Oh ok thank you. I thought it was possible because of the CameraWebServer example where we can see a video stream of good quality. But i didn't know it wasn't possible when it came to recording.

I think you might mean "you are putting the cart before the horse".
Horse before the cart is what you want to do.

It is cruel to critize BEFORE second cup of coffee

Off subject, Did you know one can lead a cow up a flight of dorm steps, but the cow refuses to exit the same way?
