Is it possible to track gps realtime without gsm?

Hi. I am looking into the possibility to create a arduino based gps device that i can track on Google maps in realtime.

I do however not want to use gsm or other simcard involved sending devices.

Is this possible?

All answers would be appreciated.

for testing purpose you can do like this

You need arduino UNo; GPS & SD shield

Upload GPS datalogger code. from TinyGps .

once dataget logged GPS http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ you can logon website & upload the gps recorded data

With GSM we can track current moving postion

You can use a satellite modem but that would be MUCH more expensive. If you are following the target at a fairly close distance you could use some kind of telemetry radio to broadcast the GPS coordinates and track the target in real time as long as you remained within the range of your radio. Do they still make two-way pagers? That might be a way to get GPS coordinates spread throughout a city.
