im trying to learn about i2c interface driving a 4 line lcd, and im going to build this circuit just wondering if everything is ok its not my design i just coped it

I would put pull up resistors on those three address lines and then connect them individually to ground if you want to change the address. Otherwise it looks fine.

thanks mike, if i dont want to change the address can i leave them floating?

Looks pretty standard to me.

No. The PCF8574 needs the address lines to be low/high. There's no pullups/pulldowns.
