Is the DUE Too Fast for UNO Display Software

I just got a DUE and tried the MCUFRIEND libraries for 320x480 ili9488. By fiddling with the reset button it runs for short periods then hangs. Looks like an old problem on faster PIC's.
Has anyone tried this and found a good place to put a delay in the TFT write routines ?

This is a parallel buss MCUFriend 2.95" 320x480 tft that works on a UNO.

I have one working now. I discovered the :
Fast library for Due and low cost HX8357B/C and ILI9481 480 x 320 thread, and thankfully, it saved me the trouble of working this out.

To use the library with the ILI9488 a slightly slower write strobe is needed.
