Is the HM-10 more secure than HC-06?

Hello everyone!

As the subject says, I'm having that question since I thought about a Bluetooth terminal to configure an ESP8266. Since that ESP is for opening the front door lock of my house via Wi-Fi, naturally I want such connection protected from being "sniffed" because that terminal transmits a password to log into what I call an "administrator session"; where you can even change the password that opens the door lock!
That's why I need it as secure as it can be.

I've read about the Bluetooh 4.0 features, but it's unclear about the encryption support.
So... does the HM-10 support (or already does) point-to-point transparent encryption in the SPP? Or is it as "flat" as the HC-06 (aka Bluetooth 2.0)?

Thank you!
