if you want ghetto, (im king of ghetto ... not by choice) I got a weather station thingie that has 1 receiver (base) and 2 transmitters (from the remote probes) ... cost at the thrift store ... 2$
ripping them apart gained me the radios as modules (well pcb with a wire would be more accurate) and they had a 3 wire connection pwr gnd and data
course they are 3v modules, have short range (about 100 foot or so), no error control or anything else for features (so good luck getting your data 100%!)
