is there a replacement for A000096 TFT screen

Hi have used lots of these in the past...now they are suddenly gone. Does anyone know, is there a replacement, or is someone else picking up the manufacture?

I guess you have to identify the features which are important to you and start looking for a replacement:

This is a 1.7" TFT SPI module with standard definition colour up to 18-bits per pixel and 160x128 resolution. On the back there is a micro-SD where you can save bitmap that you can display on the screen. The headers on the module fit the majority of the Arduino AVR based boards, such as UNO and Leanardo.

Surely the point of the A000096 TFT screen was that it did not fit regular Arduino shield headers.
It is compatible with 5V GPIO but the SD Card buffer prevents other SPI devices.

There are plenty of other ST7735S 128x160 displays that do not fit the headers.
They are mostly 3.3V GPIO. But it is pretty easy to add series resistors or level shifter chips.

. . .

I got that description from Farnell when I was trying to find out what the display was. It is misleading. Its compatibility with the "majority of the Arduino AVR based boards" seems to rely on the owner having the appropriate quantity of Dupont jumper wires. Here is the official text:

The Arduino TFT screen is a backlit LCD screen with headers. You can draw text, images, and shapes to the screen with the TFT library. There is an onboard micro-SD card slot on the back of the screen that can, among other things, store bitmap images for the screen to display.

The screen's headers are designed to fit into the socket on the front of the Arduino Esplora, but it is compatible with any AVR-based Arduino (Uno, Leonardo, etc) or with the Arduino Due. To connect the screen to other Arduino boards, read the tutorial on this link.

I had to remind myself what the Esplora was. I guess it will be retired shortly also.
