Is there any GSM only module?

I am looking for GSM only modele. I want to make simple mobile phone that can send and recive sms messages and calls. My goal is to make it extremely hard to track, that's why I don't want GPRS in my module, because it has internet capability so I guess it can be tracked in some ways (send some data or whatever). GSM can also be tracked, but to an accuracy of about 100m or so, and I'm okay with that.

I'm not knowledgeable enough on this, so I'm also looking for you to educate me on this. Thanks!

What makes you think "plain" GSM can't be tracked?

Pretty sure cell triangulation can get a lot better than 100m.

Just because a module has GPRS doesn't mean that you have to use it.

Note that support for "plain" GSM is dying...

GSM or GPRS will connect to a cell tower.

Internet has nothing to do with that, there is no WiFi or whatever.

The tracking accuracy depends on the density of the antennas around you and basically the "location" information is based on cell tower triangulation with signal strength

(in general, 2G and GPRS networks have similar cell coverage characteristics since GPRS is an enhancement of the GSM network)

Not possible, since you have to be near a cell tower for the thing to work at all.

But if you are comfortable with 100 m location accuracy, you have already abandoned the idea of being "hard to track".
