Its July 2023:
I just love these Uno R3 boards - what don't I understand should I only buy the latest R4 boards? Sorry I am a nubee hope I don't get canceled.
Please search the forum before the posting a question to not make a duplicate thread.
For 80% of my projects, a REV 3 fulfills my needs.
After developing the project on the Rev 3, I transfer it to an Arduino Pro Mini or a design I get made.
When WIFI and/or WEB pages are needed, an ESP Development board is great.
Looks like the Rev 4 product will be an all in one solution.
It’s nice they made it 5v.
I moved your topic to an appropriate forum category @jmarvosh.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
If the R3 meets your need - No.
If you're struggling against the limitations of the R3 - Maybe.
There have been other Arduinos much more powerful that the UNO for many years - if you haven't found the need to move to any of them, why would you need to move to the R4?
Don't be misled by the silly (IMO) naming of the R4: it's not just an update to the R3 - it is an entirely different animal - suited to entirely different needs.
