Issue with Mega

I accidentally pressed the reset switch at the same time I was downloading a program and something strange happened. I can't download anymore but the port shows up.

I attached some screen grabs.

When I try to download I get:

avrdude: Version 6.3-20190619

System wide configuration file is "C:\Users\joker\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\arduino\tools\avrdude\6.3.0-arduino17/etc/avrdude.conf"

Using Port : COM6

Using Programmer : wiring

Overriding Baud Rate : 115200

avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.\COM6": The system cannot find the file specified.

avrdude: ser_drain(): read error: The handle is invalid.

avrdude: ser_send(): write error: sorry no info avail

avrdude: stk500_send(): failed to send command to serial port

avrdude: ser_recv(): read error: The handle is invalid.

avrdude done. Thank you.

the selected serial port

does not exist or your board is not connected

Did I lose the bootloader? Any suggestions.

Thanks

Try restarting your computer. Sometimes a glitch causes the port to get stuck in an unusable state and restarting fixes that.

Thanks for the quick reply.

That seemed to work. That's the first time that's ever happened.

I used another mega and it connected with no problems so I thought it might be something with the bootloader.

Saved me from burning the firmware.

Thanks again.

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear it's working now. Enjoy!
