Issues with serial

Hello. I hope I placed this in the right topic.

I have this small, yet annoying issue with the serial monitor.
Is it somehow possible, when printing variables through serial communication, to prevent the scrolling?
What I mean is:

Frequency = 500 hz (where 500 is changing)

Instead of having it like this:

Frequency = 500 hz
Frequency = 500 hz
Frequency = 500 hz
Frequency = 500 hz
Frequency = 500 hz
Frequency = 500 hz

I hope you know what I mean?
Thanks :slight_smile:

dont use the serial monitor, use putty or something and add

  Serial.write(27);
  Serial.print("[2J");
  Serial.write(27);
  Serial.print("[H");

in your code

Thanks. I am pretty new with arduino
(have some limited experience with 8051 microcontrollers though).
I am using the serial monitor in order to send commands to the arduino, to control the motors.
So it's not possible to the serial monitor.

The supervisors of my education needs to be able to run the code on their pc's as well.

So it's not possible to the serial monitor.

Correct.
There are lots of terminal emulators about and these will treat carriage return and line feed separate if you configure them correctly. There is no such configuration available on the arduino's serial monitor.
