Issues with updating firmware on ATWINC1500 wifi chip

Hello everyone, I have this Wifi breakout board from Adafruit wired to an Arduino Mega 2560, and my goal is to be able to perform OTA sketch uploads to my Arduino Mega.

However, I am having a lot of trouble with updating the firmware on this wifi chip! When using the wifi101 firmware updater tool, the update to version 19.6.1 almost finished, but then gave me an "error reading flash memory" message and the update failed. Does anyone know what could have gone wrong? Has anyone here successfully updated an ATWINC1500 wifi chip to firmware version 19.6.1?

Okay so this is really weird, but apparently the firmware update worked even though it gave me this error? I got this error in the "verifying" stage of the update but it still seems to have completed the update, the checkwifi101firmware example shows the correct firmware version! Weird, but I guess it's working.
