Unfortunately, the shield covers all those convenient breakout pins, and the servo's connector is too tall to fit under the shield.
Is there a way around this? Something like spacer contacts for the shield to raise it a bit?

Buy female headers with long pins, cut them to length, and then place them between the Iteaduino and the shield. That would act as a spacer as you describe.

I see that Itead sells headers specifically for your problem. Same thing but the proper size.
