I've blown my Neopixels!

Ok, newbie alert again, but I've now blown two sets of Neopixels. I think this is because I didn't use any resistor?

Is it fair to say that Neopixels are fairly reliable and it was just me that broke them?

My project is meant to be used in a windy environment with possible humidity fluctuations. So are Neopixels a good choice for this? Or should I opt for standard "dome" LED's?

thx

Can you give me a quick guide on where to put the capacitor / resistor?

I believe the resistor goes before the DIN connection?

does the capacitor go "across" the GND and 5V?

I've heard the LED strips are fairly fragile (not the WS2812 itself). So if you're using a strip in a windy environment you would want to make sure it's not flapping and banging around and also take care during the handling and installation.

The strips come in bare, silicone encased, and silicone encapsulated. Each of those has a different IP rating which indicates how well it's protected from ingress (encapsulated being the most protected).

Most unlikely. You need to explain what you have done before we can assist.
