Joint order for displays of chinese manufacturer

[im doing this post to see if people are interested in a certain product]

Hello there fellow tinkerers.

During the last weeks i have been in contact with a chinese manufacturer who makes displays. initially i was just searching for a display for myself, but then i thought that i am probably not the only one who would profit from such a display.

let me list the features of these displays:
-3.5" up to 15" in size
-compatible with arduinos serial (Due too). you can use up to 4 of these with the due or a mega.
-resolutions from 320x240 up to 1024x768 (there is also a 7" one with 1024x600).
-touchscreen. resistive or capacitive. both available.
-dedicated MCU on board (Cortex M3) that does all the heavy lifting.
-pictures can be uploaded onto it via usb(256MB flash, extendable with microsd), and then displayed with the commands from the controller (spritesheets also possible)
-comes with a library im maintaining GitHub - fredlllll/STIXXXWT-Arduino: Arduino library to work with the displays from Stone HMI you can see all the functions that are supported by the display there
-backlight dimmable with command.
-auto switch of configurable if not touched for X seconds.
-custom fonts usable for text display
-baudrates of up to 921600 configurable
-buzzer that can be configured to beep when display is touched. can also be used via command (beep for duration)
-RTC with battery
-32MB of eeprom available for the user to store data
-builtin onscreen keyboard to enter text or numbers
-3 year warranty.
-several other features to build a working GUI (touch config and dial controls) [i didnt get around to play with these to say much about them. i know that touch config can be used to send the controller a message that a specific button was pressed (you dont have to check if press at x,y is on your button)]

all these features are pretty awesome i think. they enable you to build great projects without having to spend too much time getting the display to work.

to get to the point: i would be able to do joint orders for the displays. im sure some of you would want one.
these are the available sizes and resolutions:
3.5" - 320x240
4.3" - 480x272
5" - 480x272
5" - 640x480
5" - 800x480
5.6" - 640x480
7" - 800x480
7" - 800x600
7" - 1024x600
8" - 800x480
8" - 800x600
8" - 1024x768
10.1" - 1024x600
10.4" - 800x600
12.1" - 800x600
15.1" - 1024x768

the higher resolutions for the smaller ones were announced a few days ago by the supplier, so you can be sure that there will also be more to come for the bigger ones. the display series is fairly new (4 months old)

tell me what you think about the display and if you would want one. as this is a completely new series with many features the price is sadly a bit higher than what we are used to from china. but just look at how many hours you save when you use it instead of another product that doesnt do all this for you. the price for the 3.5" version is 120$ and for the 7" versions around 170$. so you can kinda guess how much the bigger ones cost. depending on volume of the joint order these prices might decrease significantly

please dont hate me into oblivion for this. i just wanted to tell the community about these awesome displays. if you think there is a better place for this post please let me know

if you want photos of the thing running i can provide them. or even video. just say so if you are unsure

Images or a video would be nice. How much for the 10.1 and the 15.1?

Also why $120 for a 3.5" display when I can just go on ebay and probably find the exact same one for $20 ? Seems a bit over priced.

i only have one picture of it atm http://i.imgur.com/l5WT7Z6.jpg (this is the oscilloscope sample running measuring a 1 khz rect wave with 1000samples. the display has an extra function to display graphs like this). i will do more photos and videos of it tomorrow. its 3 am now.

10.1" 1024x600 would be 220$ and 15.1" 1024x768 350$ (dont ask me why there is such a big jump all of a sudden)

i doubt you will find it for much cheaper, if at all. the model number would be STI035WT-01. the panel itself is of course just 20$ or even less. but you also pay for the R&D here. and of course all the other parts that are on the pcb of the display.

//edit i just saw that the cables are cut of in the image. i will make a new one tomorrow with all cables visible

So this:

yes that is the manufacturer. i can only tell you what my contact told me. i also have the official pricing sheet for single unit prices from them and it starts at these high prices (the 20$ is probably for orders of 5000 or more units.)
