Jumping bot

Couldnt resist sharing this.

Very good example of thinking out of the box.
You could imagine the conversation,
"why dont we throw it over a wall,
no we will make it jump,
it might survive"

The only way it could get better is if they said there was an Arduino inside.

Better still would be if it were developed by Mexican researchers, and they revealed that there's a worm gear in the mechanism that winds up its jumping spring ;D

I wouldn't be surprised if there was one inside XD

I can't rap my head around how it does that... I guess this will be the next big thing that everyone will try to emulate using an arduino (like what happened with the segway)

I can imagine doing that simple...
Putting a spring loaded thing on the bottom and to release it, flinging itself up.

Actually, they use a piston.

Actually, they use a piston.

Obviously, it was designed by an all-male team ;D

Do they use a spring to drive it? Or do they charge up an air tank and use pneumatics?

Is there a website that offers a peek inside it?

Ran

it probaly uses pnumatic air pressure underneath it
