The ESC here runs a brushless turbine---similar to but more robust than an EDF---for a Porsche cooling system. There's a bit of duct downstream of the turbine providing back-pressure. An incremental sweep up to speed for the turbine in this case works nicely---instead of slamming that back-pressure, the motor eases into it. There's also a more gradual noise increase happening. Will eventually test noise level to air through-put to determine what turbine speed is optimal. Getting the turbine running as envisioned is a high marker for this project. Your participation is much appreciated!
Did you see the initialization (I hate the word "arming") in the manual?
Edge... no. The initialization of zero throttle and 1 second delay was already written in the public domain sketch that worked the ESC & brushless (albeit a sweep up and down of the brushless which in my case was unwanted.) From looking around, I gather each ESC brand and possibly different models from a brand have different initialization protocols. Am using Turnigy Plush 40a in this case.
