Kinect and Arduino

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to use the kinect and arduino to create a hawkeye or even a wagon wheel that is used in the sport for cricket?

If so, could you guys give me some guidance on how to go about this?

Kind regards,
Keval

I thought I knew a little about cricket but I've no idea what a hawkeye or wagonwheel are.

There was a Grumman Hawkeye surveillance plane and I think a wagon wheel was a chocolate biscuit???

Heres a couple of pictures to show what I mean

Also sometimes used in baseball

I've seen those pictures on TV but I can't make any mental connection between them and your project description. Arduinos don't have the processing power for video.

What exactly are you thinking of doing? I like brevity but I think this justifies two or three substantial paragraphs.

Isn't that what the Kinect is for?
But then, why have an Arduino?

Wanted to have a cricket net, with sensors on the side walls... Reason for that was to create a point based system for the engagement...

For example I have a basic drawing of where it would be good to have sensors, but these are just thoughts in my mind for now...

See the attached file for the sensor drawings

The 2 side wall sensors help to tell us how far one hits the ball, and maybe create a point system from it from guessing the runnings it makes.

The stump sensor, tells us if it is a wicket.

The hawkeye and wagon wheel helps the batter to see where most of his shots are placed and the hawkeye helps to see the bowls trajectory and bounce height...

Any ideas are welcome..

I shall retire from this discussion ...

When you said Kinect and wagon wheel I mixed it up with this sort of thing
