Kitchen scale strain gauge(3 wire)

Hi All,

fairly new to Electronics but need some help. I have a broken kitchen scale where i took on of the strain gauges.( ill post pics of it) and using an HX711(pic attached).

Can i ask for some help in connecting these? i have figured out that the green wire is the signal wire and blue and yellow is E+,E-.

  • What is your resistance readings between the wires ?

This might help

@LarryD

measure values between green & Blue = 1, Yellow and blue = 2,green& yellow = 1. so would assume green is signal wire correct.

i have read through a few forums posts and reading about the quarter bridge setup as well. Im uncertain if i should use the quarter bridge? I have read as well that it might not be needed for a single strain gauge setup.

  • 1 ohm, or 10 ohms, or 100 ohms, or 1000 ohms ?

my apologies, its 1000ohms

  • Your measurements implies a 1/2 bridge.
