Guys, I would like to know what the difference of using a L293D "direct" in a circuit or use that power driver (look site just below)? what changes, can trigger motors with higher currents?

Assuming the board you linked to is what's shown in the little schematic - all that circuit really does is to make channels 1-2 and 3-4 run opposite to each other. It won't give you any performance increase as such.
