L293D motor driver shield power problem

Hello everyone
I'm a newbie here. I'm trying to connect L293D shield with Arduino but whenever I connect the 5V power pin of arduino with it, both the arduino and shield get turned off. Please assist me with this problem.

Hi
The image is not very clear to check the pins.
Which Arduino pins are connected to which shield pins.

Please post schematics. Your words gives no clue.

Here is clear image.
In this I haven't connected remaining jumper with 5V pin but whenever I connect the 5V pin both the arduino and shield get turned off.

I think schemectic is not needed because I am simply connecting shield with jumper wire. I hope this clear pic will give you an idea.
It would be great if you could solve the issue. In this pic I haven't connected the remaining jumper wire with arduino's 5V pin but whenever I connect it then both the arduino and shield get turned off.

Hi
In the first photo the red wire appears to be touching the black wire.
With the "Yellow" Jumper turned on, the 5V of the arduino also goes to the red wire, causing a short circuit in the power supply and turning off the arduino as well.
Separate and insulate the two wires, and test also by removing the "yellow" jumper.

No.

Your pictures are not clear. You can do a lot better.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for your reply. But this wasn't the case. I looked closely on the soldering of the device and found that the two terminal of ceremic capacitor were joint togather. I cut the soldering and that solved my issue.
