L9110s + esp32 12V

Won't connecting 12V from the L9110S to the ESP32 outputs burn them out?

The ESP is a 3.3V device. Connecting 12V to any of its GPIO pins is likely to cause damage.

Not if you use a proper interface. That is hardware that is between your ESP and other devices.

The L9110S is basically a 5V device and will also fry if connected to 12V. Without more information as to what you want to do I cannot be of further assistance.

Looking at the UMW L9110S datasheet, the max VCC value is around 8V. Furthermore, reviews on amazon for the L9110S say that 12V operation results in damage to the board. Perhaps you could use a linear regulator/ buck converter to step down the voltage?

Thank you for your answer.
