Large LED Matrix 11x10 RGB LEDs

Hi All,

I'm starting a project that will see me soldering/connecting a lot of LEDs (110+) :astonished:

I have very little experience with soldering so i'm not sure that it would turn out too well if i started out there. I mean I would probably learn how to do it properly by the end and want to re-do the whole thing... and that is a lot of led's to link up on a breadboard.

I have seen some prebuilt setups already out there like the peggy2 but i was wondering about the process of creating my own board like that from some pcb manufacturer and if it would be dangerous to start out there?

Any guidance as to a starting point would be great!

Thanks Everyone!!

You could use stripboard.

Here is a design for a UV light box made from 80ish UV LEDs. Ironically for etching PCBs.

It also tells you how to make your own PCBs. Thus killing two birds with one stone.

Sweet! Sounds like a great project.

Please use anything you can from our open source 10x16 RGB array: ClockTHREE.

The code site contains all of the design files in the KiCad directory.

We'd be happy to answer any questions.
