Hi all,
So I have been having issues with my LCD. I've added tons of filter capacitors all over, I have a 1000uf cap on my main power rail from the arduino and my text on the LCD still gets garbled from time to time. All my relays should have isolation so I don't really understand where it could be coming from.
I just added a diode across my ground rail on my breadboard to the ground going to the arduino. A 1N4001 diode to be specific. I'll post my results soon on if this fixes my original issue or not BUT after adding the diode. The text on the LCD is... darker then it was before. Should this be happening? Obviously the diode is controlling the flow but I had hoped it wouldn't restrict flow going TO the ground.
Any help would be appreciated,
- B
EDIT:
Just a quick update. The LCD is working perfectly now with the diode in place. Now its just a matter of getting the brightness on the text back to the way it was.
EDIT2: Ran fine for about 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Then became garbled. I don't understand..... (see attached)
