LCD Displays

Here is a problem solved. LCD displays that give incorrect characters is not all down to connections or coding,it is also poor manufacturing and bad storage. The LCD relies on the Z rubber making perfect contact between the gold print and the glass. I have had this problem with 2 that i received which come from Velleman eu and are 3 years old. What is happening is the rubber is not making contact, as like any type of rubber the ones used on these are drying out. After 5 weeks of trying to get answers from Velleman EU we have given up and purchased from another source and the all work fine. My advice is only purchase made up shields or like me only purchase LCD's on there own from China at low prices then the loss is not so great and like us now, we will only make our own modules.
