LCD + Ethernet Shield + Arduino

Hello,

My project has those components connected: LCD + Ethernet Shield + Arduino UNO. I am powering the whole thing using a 5V AC to DC adaptor. The arduino is being powered from the 5V pin through the ethernet shield and the lcd is being powered directly from the breadboard. The problem is that when I power everything up using the USB connected to the usb port on arduino, everything works but when the power comes from the 5V adaptor the ethernet shield keeps restarting.

The strange thing is that if I press the reset button on arduino (when is connected to 5V adaptor), the ethernet shield stops restarting and works.

Is there any solution to fix this?

Edit: I tried connecting the USB from the PC to the breadboard and then powering the arduino from the breadboard through the 5V pin. It keeps restaring utill I press the reset button.

How is the AC/DC-plug connected to the arduino? Via the USB-port or the black, round connector?
The AMS1177 voltage regulator between the 5V rail and the black power connector drops ~1.1V, that might be a problem.
