This sketch works well except that if I use the web interface button then the LCD double refreshes, so somewhere there could be some unnecessary coding.
Not a train smash but a smooth running system is more efficient.

Does the serial monitor show a second request? Some web browsers send a request for a file named favicon.ico after the web page is loaded. That will cause a double response in some instances.
I haven't checked the rest of your code.

I was under the impression that it did a double flash after I had added the Piezo, buzzer tune.
