Not working

I have a BIG crystal ball but it only shows fog when I read your postings.
To get you on track (BEFORE anybody can really and seriously assist you to get it working):

  1. Pls read carefully the instructions HOW to use this forum and what information you should provide so that anybody could step in your shoes and get a first idea what you are talking about - this is all about technology and it only works when you have done EVERYTHING right. The smallest error or lack of something causes a complet failure in most of the cases. Example: You got the most fancy Ferrari of this world with hundreds/thousands of world first class features and functions and horse power - without gas in your tank - nothing will happen ...

That said:

  1. Tell us, what works/ doesn't work
  2. Pls post your sketch - again, have a look at the forum rules and use code tags </>
  3. Tell us what your code should do in your expectation (your project goal)

Hi and welcome.

The display keeps dropping off the shield, because it isn't soldered to it.
You need to solder it to the shield to have it work correctly.
If you don't want to solder it, solder a header to the shield so you can plug the display in that.

See the other answers and learn how to use the forum in the best way.

@MAS3:
You are so right. I overlooked that fact ( was late last night).
Dealing with displays good soldering is one, if not the main key to get it run, besides of software (e.g. wrong constructor in combination with a non-compatible library) and the traditional contrast pot issue.
